Identifiers make the connection
Each stage needs a stable identifier. The field application should point to the batch used, not just the product name. An observation should point to the plot and trial, not just a description of the location. Where materials are combined or divided, those relationships need to remain visible.
Product context
Material references, preparation records, formulation version and relevant quality checks.
Field context
Trial and plot references, application timing, recorded method and observation links.
Traceability helps frame better questions
If observations differ between plots or trial runs, a connected record can help reviewers identify what else differed. It supports an investigation; it does not prove the cause of a difference.
This is why the first platform work centres on relationships and reliable records. Analysis becomes more useful when a reviewer can move from a summary back to the information behind it.
